When we told Kevin about the beach, he really wasn't interested.
He said he would go only if we had pizza once a day
Christian was thrilled and was looking forward to the time with his Grandma and Pa
Our day started off as so many do with four people in a double bed!
We decided next time we go on a big trip we would get a babysitter. Getting ready for a trip has its challenges when you have two little ones. But not to worry...Baby Bjorn saves the day! I never thought I would get ready while holding a baby!
Lunch was special on this day. Emily got to eat at a table just her size!
Our trip to Panama City had its challenges! We started off with Kevin driving. This lasted until Tallahasse where Lesli had to get a Starbucks. I took over the driving from here. But this lasted only about a half hour. Here you can see Kevin, holding...thats right, two pacifiers in two children's mouth. Emily was asleep but on the verge of waking up. Christian was crying. Needless to say, we pulled over, mommy got in the back between two car seats and read, sang and held pacifiers in for the remainder of the trip. My husband promised me we will be getting a mini van before our next trip!
When we got to the beach we learned that we were staying on the 14th floor! We had a great view!
Emily was so excited to have her cousins to play with!
Grandma was so happy to have her babies to hold and love.
And as you can see... all of the grandkids were glad to have Grandma and Pa around to spoil them!
When we first go there, Emily said she wanted to sleep in brothers bed, but I told her that wasn't going to work out.
Next she said she wanted to sleep with her cousin, but Christy and I didn't think this would be safe, considering they are both aggressive sleepers! Not to mention that Christy would have to find a new place to sleep!
Finally we broke it to her that she was going to have to sleep in the king sized bed with her mommy and daddy. She agreed under one condition...she got to sleep side ways. Each night Kevin and I slept with a daughter between us who started out laying one direction but always seemed to end up either upside down or sideways!
We had a great time in spite of the kicking and sleeping on the edge of the bed!
Our mornings were leisurely and enjoyable.
The kids had a great time playing together and Kevin even chimed in on the fun!
Usually around 9 or 10 we would head out to the beach! (after packing the bags with toys, finding the swimsuits and layering on the sun screen!)
Off we headed to the beach!
Grandma showed us all up with her willingness to get down on the kids level and play with them!
Emily started out looking real cute...
But somewhere along the way she lost her suit!
At night we enjoyed a game of putt putt. Emily couldn't quite grasp the concept of taking turns so instead we let her explore other options...
She must have enjoyed herself because Kevin and I have been having frequent requests for putt putt since our return home.
Kevin also learned a new art... how to play putt putt with an infant
AJ and Abigail did a super job just being cute!
Of course we could not pass up a night of shopping!
The guys even joined us!
We really had a great time at the beach. As always, my favorite part is just being reminded of the Magnitude of Gods Majesty. It is hard to look at scenes like this one and not be humbly aware of His Presence.
But the time came to say good bye. God promised I would find Him when we returned home...
And I see Him in the sweetness of my family! As you can see...our sleeping arrangements really didn't change much!
