playing catch up

Greetings!

I have to warn you...I am going to have some pretty outdated blogs coming your way!

It has been way too long since we have had an entry and I will try to touch on the highlights to catch you all up on where we have been lately.

This year has proven to have its challenges but I feel as if God is teaching us all many lessons. Kevin has left NTS and is now self employed. We are floating along by Gods Grace, and trusting in Him to provide for our spiritual and financial needs.

Meanwhile..Emily has been enjoying coloring!

Both Christian & Emily are growing by leaps and bounds! It has indeed proven to be a challenge to keep up with the two of them! When I hear someone crying I never know if it is Emily being too rough with brother (maybe he took a toy or is getting too much in her personal space) or could it be Emily crying because brother took a chomp out of her leg! Needless to say I rarely leave them in a room unattended!

However, there are those rare moments when I take a chance and exit the room only to find interesting surprises upon my return!

Below is the story of one such occasion!

What is this?! You may be asking yourself....this is my daughter recovering from her very first "catastrophic two year old venture".

I had left Emily and Christian in the bedroom for a brief moment while I went into the kitchen to put up some laundry...I come back into the bedroom only minutes later to find both children giggling. I knew something must be terribly wrong. Sure enough...something was in Emilys hands that she was rubbing all over her face and into her hair. Next I survey Christian...yep he is contaminated as well. What in the world does she have I think to myself and then with sudden horror...I realize I had left the vasoline in the laundry basket. Yes the very same vasoline that she has requested numerous times to play with and now it is all over her and her brother!

In panic mode I put her into the tub...Christian follows us into the bathroom pulls apart the air vent and then the phone rings!

Calgone take me away!

No really I called my Mom and she solved the problem

After three or four times of washing her hair and realizing that what I was doing simply was not cutting it, I realize Mom needs to be recruited. After some searcing she reports the antedote...Cornstarch! So here Emily is enjoying her cornstarch treatment!

After a few minutes of cornstarch Emily's hair was returned to normal! Here she is having a snack after her new hair do.

Papa and Emily decided to celebrate with some dare devil play. Mom wasn't taking it so well!
